Our company’s Fukui plant has introduced a small-sized wind power generator this past spring. The wind power generator is made of reinforced plastic and has a 4.4 m diameter, including the blades, and rated output of 2 kW. As the introduction of wind power generation in Fukui Prefecture is uncommon, it was broadcasted on a local news program of Fukui FBC TV and reported twice in the Fukui Shimbun.
As for the capacity, this wind power generation can only cover expenses for lighting of the plant’s business office wing. However, we introduced wind power generation not to reduce expenses but to reduce environmental load as part of our active initiatives on environmental issues, which is one of our company’s policies. We intend to actively work on environmental issues on a variety of fronts in the future.

Our company established Daihachi Chemical Industry (Changshu) Co., Ltd. as a subsidiary in Changshu City, Jiangsu, located about 80 km northwest of Shanghai, and started plant construction in June 2004. The manufacturing facilities were completed in June 2005 and started operation.
Currently, Daihachi Chemical Industry produces flame retardant CR-741 for engineering plastics. We plan to increase production items in the future and intend to develop a supply system as a leading maker of phosphorous flame retardant to respond to demands for flame retardant by various industries in the Southeast Asian region where further development has been expected.
